4. Cookie Policy

Cookies are small text files that a website may place on your computer or mobile device when you first visit a site or page. The cookie helps our Site, or another website, to recognize your device the next time you visit. For example, cookies can help us remember your username and preferences, analyze how well our website is performing, or even allow us to recommend content we believe will be most relevant to you.

We may use cookies for the following reasons and purposes:

  1. To provide the service you have asked for. Some cookies are essential so you can navigate through the website and use its features. Without these cookies, we would not be able to provide the services you’ve requested. For example, some cookies allow us to identify subscribers and ensure they can access the subscription-only pages. If a subscriber opts to disable these cookies, the user will not be able to access all of the content that a subscription entitles them to. These cookies don’t gather information about you that could be used for marketing or remembering where you’ve been on the internet. Essential cookies keep you logged in during your visit.
  2. To improve your browsing experience. These cookies allow the website to remember choices you make, such as your language or region, and they provide improved features. These cookies will help remember your preferences and settings, including marketing preferences, remembering if you’ve filled in certain forms so you’re not asked to do it again, remembering if you’ve been to the Site before, and restricting the number of times you’re shown a particular advertisement. We might also use these cookies to highlight Site services that we think will be of interest to you based on your usage of the website.
  3. Analytics. To enhance your experience on our Site, we track the popularity of pages and links to help us keep the Site relevant and up to date. Analyzing how users navigate through our Site and identifying error messages from web pages can provide valuable insights. These cookies, commonly known as “analytics cookies,” are used to collect this information. They do not gather information that personally identifies you. The data collected is anonymous and aggregated with information from other users’ cookies. This allows us to identify overall usage patterns rather than individual activities.
  4. Showing relevant advertising. We may sell advertising space on our Site to advertisers, and the resulting ads may contain cookies. These cookies are used to deliver advertisements that are more relevant to your interests. They also help limit the number of times you see an advertisement and measure the effectiveness of advertising campaigns. These cookies are usually placed by advertising networks with our permission. They remember that you have visited a website, and this information may be shared with other organizations, such as advertisers.

Most browsers allow you to disable cookies. To do this, refer to the “help” menu on your browser. However, disabling cookies may restrict your use of the Site and could affect its functionality or cause delays.

5. Other Important Information

Security

The personal information you provide to us is stored on a password-protected server accessible only by administrators. We implement security measures designed to protect your data, such as SSL (HTTPS). We regularly monitor our systems for potential vulnerabilities and attacks. However, we cannot guarantee the security of any information that you send us. There is no assurance that data may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed due to a breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards. Any transmission of personal information is at your own risk. We are not responsible for the circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Site. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials, if any, confidential.

Cross-Border Data Transfers

Your information, including Personal Information, may be transferred to and maintained on computers located outside of your state, province, country, or other governmental jurisdiction where the data protection laws may differ from those of your jurisdiction.

We provide the Dengtai Network services and process data through servers located both inside and outside of Mainland China. By agreeing to our Privacy Policy, you consent to the transfer of your personal information across borders.

Children’s Privacy

Dengtai Network is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal information from a child under the age of 13, we will immediately delete that information from our database.

If a parent or guardian believes that their child has provided personal information to us, they can contact us via email. We will promptly delete the information upon confirmation that it relates to a child under the age of 13. Please note that some of this information may remain in archived web logs and backup archives after we delete it from our active database.

Lawful Bases for Processing

We will only collect and process your personal data if we have lawful bases to do so. These lawful bases may include your consent, the necessity of processing for the performance of a contract with you (e.g., to provide the Dengtai Network services you have requested), and our legitimate interests.

Data Retention

We will generally retain your personal data as long as your account is active or as needed to provide you with our services. This includes data that you or others have provided to us and data generated or inferred from your use of our services. However, we reserve the right to delete your account and all associated information if it has been inactive for more than 12 months.

We retain your personal data even after you have closed your account if reasonably necessary to comply with our legal obligations (including law enforcement requests), meet regulatory requirements, resolve disputes, maintain security, prevent fraud and abuse (e.g., if we have restricted your account for breach of our Professional Community Policies), enforce our User Agreement, or fulfill your request to “unsubscribe” from further messages from us. We will retain de-personalized information after your account has been closed.

Information you have shared with others will remain visible after you close your account or delete the information from your own profile or mailbox, and we do not control data that other Members have copied out of our Services. Groups content and ratings or review content associated with closed accounts will show an unknown user as the source. Your profile may continue to be displayed in the services of others (e.g., search engine results) until they refresh their cache.

Applicable Law

This Policy and the User Agreement together constitute the basic agreement document for your use of the Dengtai Network’s Service. This policy shall be governed by the current laws and regulations of the People’s Republic of China.

6. GDPR Privacy Notice

This Notice is for individuals located in the European Economic Area (“EEA”), Switzerland, or the United Kingdom (“UK”) and supplements our general Privacy Notice.

  1. Your GDPR rights to be informed, to access, rectify, erase, or restrict the processing of your personal information. You have the right to transmit that data to another controller if doing so does not adversely affect the rights and freedoms of others.
  1. Right to object. You can object, based on grounds relating to your particular situation, at any time, to the processing of your personal information, if it is based on point (e) or (f) of Article 6(1) of the GDPR.
